When a customer opens a quote, the experience matters.
It is not just about showing prices and line items. It is about helping the customer understand your recommendation, review their options, ask questions, provide needed information, accept the quote, and move forward with confidence.
That is why we are excited to introduce the new NorthStar templates for QuoteValet.
NorthStar is a modern QuoteValet template experience designed to make online quotes more interactive, easier to navigate, and more useful for both your customers and your sales team.
The name NorthStar was chosen intentionally. For centuries, the North Star has helped people navigate by giving them a clear, reliable point of reference. That same idea applies to the quote experience. NorthStar templates are designed to give your customers a clearer path through the quote review process, from understanding their options to accepting, signing, and moving forward.
The NorthStar templates give QuoteValet quotes a cleaner, more modern presentation than our previous defaults.
Instead of feeling like a static document placed online, NorthStar creates an interactive customer quote page. Customers can review details, make selections, update information, communicate with the sales rep, and accept the quote, all from one guided experience.
Customers increasingly expect business software interactions to feel simple, clear, and self-service. A better quote experience reduces friction at one of the most critical points in the sales process: the moment the customer is deciding whether to move forward.
With NorthStar, customers can do more than simply view a page. They can interact with quote items, including:
This is especially useful when a quote includes recommended add-ons, optional services, alternative configurations, or quantity-based purchasing decisions.
Instead of sending multiple follow-up emails asking, “Can you add this?” or “What happens if we change the quantity?”, customers can interact with the quote directly. For sales teams, this means fewer back-and-forth emails and a smoother path from review to acceptance.
Delivery details are often one of those small things that can create unnecessary delays. Maybe the shipping address changed, the customer noticed a typo, or the order needs to go to a different location than originally expected.
With NorthStar, the delivery address section can be edited directly by the customer from the quote page.
This keeps the quote-to-order process cleaner. The customer can correct delivery information before acceptance, reducing the chance of fulfillment issues after the quote becomes an order.
The NorthStar templates include helpful customer action buttons directly on the quote page. With a single click, customers can:
These actions are simple but powerful.
If a customer has a question, they do not need to start a separate email thread. If they need to provide a document, they can upload it from the quote experience. If they need to review terms, the Terms & Conditions PDF is readily available.
The Active Quotes panel is especially helpful when a customer has multiple departments, locations, projects, revisions, or open opportunities being quoted at the same time. Giving customers visibility into other active quotes for their company helps reduce confusion and keeps the buying process more organized.
Terms & Conditions are a vital part of the quoting process, but they are often treated as an afterthought.
NorthStar makes it easy for customers to access the Terms & Conditions PDF directly from the quote page.
This keeps important purchasing details visible during the review process and can help reduce post-sale misunderstandings around expectations, payment terms, scope, delivery, and service coverage.
The goal is not just to make the quote look better. The goal is to make the customer’s decision-making process clearer.
NorthStar also includes a customer-facing toggle for light mode and dark mode.
While this may seem like a small visual enhancement, it reinforces the larger direction of the new templates: QuoteValet is a modern, web-based quote experience. Customers can view quotes in the mode they prefer, creating a more comfortable and contemporary user experience.
Accepting a quote should be simple, but it also needs to capture the right information.
With NorthStar, customers click to accept and move through a guided acceptance workflow, which can include:
This turns quote acceptance into a more complete quote-to-order handoff.
Instead of simply capturing a “yes,” the process captures the supporting details your team needs to process the order correctly the first time.
After accepting, the customer is provided with clear next steps.
They can download a signed copy of the quote, review the accepted details, or proceed directly to payment if payment options were provided.
This reduces post-acceptance uncertainty and creates a more complete buying experience from initial review through acceptance and payment.
Any new QuoteValet customers will automatically default to the new NorthStar templates. That means new customers will start with the most modern QuoteValet quote experience right out of the box.
Existing QuoteValet customers are not forced to change immediately.
If you are already using QuoteValet, you can continue using your current templates or switch to NorthStar when you are ready. This gives your team time to review the new experience, test how it looks with your quotes, and decide when it makes sense to update your customer-facing quote presentation.
We made this choice intentionally.
Many existing QuoteValet customers have built their quote presentation workflows around their current templates. Some teams have customized messaging, Terms & Conditions, internal processes, approval workflows, or customer expectations tied to the way their QuoteValet quotes appear today.
Automatically changing that experience could create confusion for sales teams or customers, especially when active quotes are already in progress.
NorthStar is available when you are ready to modernize your QuoteValet experience, but the timing is in your control. Our goal is to make the improved template experience available without disrupting the quote workflows you already rely on.
